I thought I would post a link to a friend of mine – at least I call him a friend as we have been in an out of touch for years but only met twice I think – He is now in India trying to leave but his round the world expedition is an interesting one to say the least. I was receiving facebooks from Andy but only just took the time to see what it was he was up to this time… Enjoy the read. http://www.biotruckexpedition.com/
I have not managed to get my face away from Marathon des Sables images now for 18 days. 10 days in the desert and 8 back here in Paris. But I have been out! I thought I would post on a beautiful walk two nights ago before I post a few insights from the MdS. This, though is probably the most important lesson from the desert and one we lose sight of all too easily. Time spent enjoying what is around us. We walked down to the Seine two nights ago, took a bottle of champagne and just sat in the cool spring evening before going out to eat. It was a sublime time that lasted about an hour and was followed by beautiful food and wine.
The MdS teaches us a lot but there are mant things we miss if we don’t take the time to look around and enjoy……….
I am back and here are a few images….. It was a truly great MDS, hot long and extremely hard. You can also find the portfolio at www.junglemoon.co.uk/mds2010_portfolio
More insights and stories to follow
Here you go, first pics from the MDS. Admin hard at work by the pool!
Off to the desert in half an hour…
